Wang Peng, Director-General of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization, MIIT, Inspects Yichang Brunp Recycling

On October 23, Wang Peng, Director-General of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), paid a special inspection visit to Yichang Brunp Recycling’s Whole-Chain Integrated Industrial Park while attending the 2025 Green Energy Conference. The visit aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the company’s progress in power battery recycling and reuse.

Accompanied by Yu Haijun, Vice President of Brunp Recycling, Director-General Wang Peng and his delegation toured Yichang Brunp’s Intelligent Control Center, the integrated production line for regenerated iron phosphate produced through the targeted recycling of end-of-life batteries, the integrated iron phosphate production line that uses primary phosphate ore as a raw material, and the ultra-large-scale intelligent production cluster for lithium iron phosphate. Director-General Wang spoke highly of Brunp Recycling’s ultra-large-scale investment and development in Yichang, particularly its integrated project featuring compatibility between recycled and primary material production as well as flexible operation.

Yichang Brunp was the first in China to build and commission a 100,000-ton-per-year production line dedicated to lithium iron phosphate battery recycling, which has now reached full-scale commercial production. This line enables high-efficiency recovery of phosphorus and lithium, and produces new-generation lithium iron phosphate materials through closed-loop recycling. It achieves full-component recovery and reuse of end-of-life lithium iron phosphate batteries, and has established a benchmark for industrial application in this field.
