Total Investment of 6.1 Billion Yuan! Brunp Advanced Battery Materials Project Breaks Ground in Yichang

On March 26, the 500,000 t/a Advanced Battery Materials Project of Brunp Recycling, with a total investment of 6.1 billion yuan, officially broke ground in Yichang, Hubei Province. Huang Jianxiong, Secretary of the Yichang Municipal Party Committee, and Li Changdong, Chairman and President of Guangdong Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

The project is designed with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of iron phosphate, 180,000 tons of nickel sulfate and 12,000 tons of cobalt sulfate. It is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in the second half of 2027, with an estimated annual output value increase of 5.6 billion yuan upon full operation. Once completed, Yichang Brunp will reach an annual capacity of 750,000 tons of iron phosphate, 450,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, and 500,000 tons of battery recycling. The project will inject strong momentum into local economic development, bolster the supply chain security of the new energy industry, drive coordinated growth across upstream and downstream sectors, and deliver a win-win of economic, social and ecological benefits.

Since settling in Yichang in 2021, Brunp Recycling has expanded investment in the city twice with successive projects put into operation, achieving an output value of 10.8 billion yuan in 2025. Huang Jianxiong pointed out that the higher an enterprise’s development level, the stronger its capability in resource integration. He expressed the hope that Brunp will further consolidate its confidence in rooting itself in Yichang, build a stronger full-chain-integration industrial park, jointly forge high-level innovation platforms, leverage both domestic and international markets and resources, and drive the upgrading of Yichang’s economic scale and development level through corporate growth.
