On June 17th, the Tianjin Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CATL. Chen Miner, Secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Zhang Gong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Zeng Yuqun, Founder and Chairman of CATL, as well as Li Changdong, President of Brunp Recycling, held a meeting and witnessed the signing of the agreement. Peng Bo, Executive Vice General Manager of TEDA, and Yu Haijun, Vice President of Brunp Recycling, signed the agreement on behalf of companies.
Chen Miner and Zhang Gong welcomed Zeng Yuqun and his delegation on behalf of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Government. Chen Miner said that he hopes that this signing will serve as a new beginning for both sides to deepen cooperation in the research and manufacturing of new energy batteries, heavy truck charging and swapping infrastructure, circular economy, and other areas.
Zeng Yuqun said that CATL will seize the strategic opportunity, accelerate the implementation of agreement items, leverage its technological research and development advantages, continuously increase its business layout in Tianjin, further expand cooperation space between the two sides, and contribute to Tianjin's green, low-carbon and high-quality development.
According to the agreement, both parties will rely on their advantages to actively cooperate in the research of policies for the recycling of retired new energy vehicles and waste batteries, the construction of the recycling network, the construction of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei integrated collaborative processing base, the management of carbon asset. They will jointly create a full life cycle value chain of batteries in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region and even nationwide.
This cooperation is a strong alliance and deep integration of Teda and Brunp in the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry, injecting new impetus into the growth of new productive forces and achieving high-quality development.
