Release time:2023-02-27
On February 27th, 2023, Hunan Brunp and Mercedes-Benz signed a memorandum of understanding on carrying out the EV battery recycling project jointly.
According to the memorandum of understanding, Hunan Brunp will recycle the spent EV batteries of Mercedes-Benz, realize the cyclic utilization of key metal materials such as nickel, cobalt, manganese and lithium, and remanufacture them into battery cathode materials. CATL will make battery cathode materials into EV batteries and supply batteries to Mercedes-Benz. In the future, both sides will carry out extensive cooperation about battery recycling technology and business model.
Brunp solves the problem of metal recycling with the original “reverse product positioning design” mode, and works with the parent company CATL to create an industrial closed-loop of "battery production - use - cascade utilization - recycling and resource regeneration - battery materials". At present, Brunp has set up 251 battery recycling sites across China, and established long-term cooperation with Volvo, BMW, FAW-Volkswagen, GAC-Toyota and other well-known automobile enterprises in battery recycling business.
The largest production base of Mercedes-Benz is located in China. Mercedes-Benz has been committed to the green transformation for a long time. Through this cooperation, Mercedes-Benz will effectively improves energy efficiency and creates a sustainable industrial closed-loop with the leading battery recycling and resource recovery technologies of Brunp. In the future, both sides will promote the eco-green development and the zero-carbon goal of the automobile industry through continuous technological innovation.
