​Brunp Recycling Wins Guangdong Provincial Gold Patent Award

Recently, the People's Government of Guangdong Province released the honor roll of the 11th Guangdong Patent Award. Leveraging its core patent for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery recycling, Brunp Recycling has been honored with the prestigious Guangdong Provincial Gold Patent Award.

Lithium iron phosphate batteries currently make up over 80% of power battery installed capacity and have become the mainstream technical route. A large batch of such batteries is about to enter the retirement peak period. Nevertheless, the recycling of spent LFP batteries faces prominent industrial bottlenecks. Traditional high-temperature regeneration and hydrometallurgical technologies can only extract lithium, while phosphorus and iron components are mostly turned into low-value waste residues or even landfilled. This blocks the high-value remanufacturing of battery materials, creates a long-term imbalance between recycling costs and revenues, and restricts the large-scale and sound development of the whole sector.

With its self-developed recycling process for waste lithium iron phosphate batteries, Brunp Recycling has created a distinctive technology featuring short workflows and high efficiency. It also took the global lead in realizing large-scale recycling, treatment and targeted circular engineering application of retired LFP batteries, resolving the long-standing safety and environmental issues brought by phosphorus-iron residues that have troubled the industry.
