Recently, the national standard "Technical Guidelines for the Directional Recycling Technology of Chemicals from Waste Lithium Batteries," led by Guangdong Brunp Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Brunp Recycling), has been approved for establishment by the Standardization Administration of China. This not only marks the official inclusion of Directional Recycling Technology(DRT) as a national standard term for lithium battery recycling in China but also demonstrates that Brunp Recycling's unique DRT has achieved the transformation and application of "technology to patent" and "patent to standard," injecting strong momentum into leading the recycling industry towards innovative, standardized, and high-quality development.
As early as 2009, Brunp Recycling first proposed the Directional Recycling Technology (DRT), which has gradually become synonymous with the closed-loop business model in the recycling industry. Brunp Recycling has consistently focused on resource harmlessness, reduction, recycling, high value-added, and directionality, conducting integrated innovation from the four directions of efficiency improvement, benefit enhancement, process synergy, and safety and environmental protection. It relies on the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for the Recycling of Power Batteries from New Energy Vehicles and the Guangdong Key Laboratory of Battery Recycling for technology research and engineering practices.
The emergence of DRT has truly established a technical and business model channel for waste batteries to "come from where they came and return to where they belong." The "Technical Guidelines for the Directional Recycling Technology of Chemicals from Waste Lithium Batteries," as the world's first national standard named after directional recycling, fills the gap in China's application of lithium battery DRT and strengthens the leading value of the entire chain integration engineering. It is expected to accelerate innovation and upgrading in the recycling industry and play a significant role in promoting large-scale equipment upgrades and consumer goods trade-ins.
