    Waste power batteries are rich in valuable metal resources such as lithium, nickel, and cobalt, and the development of recycling is of great significance to the recycling of resources. In order to improve the level of comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued and implemented the "Industry Standards for the Comprehensive Utilization of Waste Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles" and announced the interim measures to actively cultivate key enterprises in the industry and support the development of recycling technologies and processes. At present, enterprises represented by Hubei Gelinmei and Hunan Bangpu have formed a certain scale of regeneration processing capacity.

    Hubei GEM Co., Ltd. built an intelligent and non-destructive disassembly line for waste power batteries, and developed a "liquid phase synthesis and high temperature synthesis" process. The spherical cobalt powder produced can be directly used in the production of battery cathode materials.

     Hunan Bangpu Company has developed automatic disassembly equipment for power battery modules and monomers. The "Directed Cycle and Reverse Product Positioning" process developed can produce nickel cobalt manganese oxide and battery-grade cobalt tetroxide.

    Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Industry Co., Ltd. builds waste lithium battery resource recovery and recycling production lines, equipped with battery pack (group) disassembly treatment, monomer crushing and classification, wet purification and other treatment processes.

    Guangdong Guanghua Company has built a recycling production line, and has developed technologies such as "multi-stage series synergistic complexation extraction and purification", "bipolar membrane electrodialysis" and other technologies, using environmentally friendly processing techniques to realize the recovery of a variety of valuable metal elements.

    Beijing Saidemei Company has developed the electrolyte and diaphragm dismantling and recycling process, which can disassemble the shell, electrolyte, diaphragm, positive electrode waste powder, negative electrode waste powder and other materials of the waste battery, and then obtain the positive and negative through the material repair process.极材料.

    Jiangxi Highpower Company has put into production a lithium battery recycling project. It has complete equipment and procedures for the harmless treatment of waste batteries, and uses advanced environmental protection technology and equipment to recycle waste batteries.

    At present, the number of used power batteries is still very small, and the used power batteries recycled by enterprises are mainly derived from defective products generated during the R&D and manufacturing process of battery manufacturers, as well as batteries used for the promotion of vehicle decommissioning in the "Ten Cities and Thousand Vehicles Project". The recycling technology of waste power batteries is mainly based on hydrometallurgy and physical repair. The comprehensive recovery rate of hydrometallurgical nickel, cobalt, manganese and other metal elements can reach 98%. In general, the recycling technology is relatively mature, but key technologies and equipment such as the efficient extraction of valuable metals need to be upgraded. The level of pollution prevention in the dismantling of waste power batteries needs to be improved, and the recycling of lithium iron phosphate batteries is facing a problem of poor economy.

    In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will make full use of the existing industrial foundations such as scrapped automobiles, dismantling of electronic appliances and non-ferrous metallurgy, and coordinate the layout of power battery recycling enterprises to promote the sustainable development of the industry.
