Guangdong BRUNP Academician Workstation of power battery and electric vehicle car recycling research (hereinafter, "Academician workstation") was approved to build by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province in 2010. Total input is 10 million. The workshop introduces academician Zhang Yi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as the chief scientist to focus on the technical research of new energy vehicles recycling use. At present, workstation has 4000 square meters' experimental site area, increases 62 sets of new instruments, has established Academician workstation's management method of Guangdong BRUNP Recycling Technology Co., Ltd (Temporary) which provides the effective guarantee for the workstation's normal operation. Academician and his team have six people, in which there is one academician, five doctors, five people in senior positions.

Profile of academician Zhang Yi
Zhang Yi, female, born in June, 1939, is the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, green process engineering expert, PhD supervisor.
In 1963, she graduated from the metallurgical physical chemistry major of Dongbei University.

From 1989 to 1991, she researched cooperatively environmental chemistry and material engineering in Swiss Bern University and Kyushu university in Japan. Now, she is the leader of the environment engineering discipline in the process engineering lab, academic committee director of green process and engineering key laboratory, with an additional post of vice chairman in the China Nonferrous Metal Institute. In 1999, she was elected to be academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Academician Zhang Yi is the one of main pioneers in the field of China’s green process engineering research. In the eighties, she initiated the overlapping comprehensive research's new direction of resource materials chemistry and chemical industry and environmental engineering, created a series of new technologies and excellent demonstration projects, had an important impact both at home and abroad. In nineties, she opened up the new direction of clean process - green chemical process research, host China's first clean process national project, achieved important original results and industrialized application breakthrough in the field of resource’s efficient cleaning transformation - multilevel recycling integration technology and green process engineering. The new system of the sub-molten salt ‘s of efficient cleaning reaction and chemical new process, pointed out for the first time at home and abroad, has expanded to the universality new theory and platform technology that handle a variety of resources. She makes a pioneering contribution to the construction of resources environment process engineering interdisciplinary and greening promotion of China's traditional industry.

She had won one second and one third prize of National prize for Technical Invention and the National prize for Progress in Science and Technology, three first prize of Progress prize in science and technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.

In 1988, achieved the title of “National young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions”;
In 2001, achieved the first “Ten heroine” title of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 2002, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Ministry of Personnel awarded her research group the title of “Advanced group”.
She has published more than 200 papers, more than 10 monographs and coauthored books, more than 50 applying and authorized patents, educated more than 50 doctor’s and master’s graduate students.
